Das CADI versucht die Entwicklung der freie Marktwirtschaft und der Bürgerrechte zu unterstützen. Man sucht dies mit öffentlichen Debatten, Forschungsprojekten, Beratungstätigkeit, Ausbildungsprogrammen und anderem mehr zu erreichen. Nach CADIs Selbstbeschreibung können diese Tätigkeitsbereiche, typisch für einen Think Tank, in Analyse der Institutionen - das wäre die Forschungstätigkeit - und Entwicklung der Institutionen - das wäre die Beratungstätigkeit - eingeteilt werden.
